Results after Revision Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair: A Prospective Multi-Center Analysis

چکیده
Primary arthroscopic rotator cuff repair has shown to provide reliable clinical results with a low re-tear rate. Rotator re-tears following surgical are associated poor shoulder function and unsatisfactory results. Data regarding the role of revision (RARCR) sparse. Hence, this study aimed investigate radiological RARCR. It was hypothesized that (1) RARCR would lead an improved outcome (2) be dependent on tendon integrity at two years. During 3-year period, 100 patients who underwent were prospectively enrolled in multi-center ten European centers. Clinical evaluated pre-operatively, six months years by Constant Score (CS), Oxford Shoulder (OSS) Subjective Value (SSV). Tendon analyzed MRI using Sugaya classification. 13 (13%) lost follow-up. All scores significantly during period (CS from 44±16 preoperatively 58±22 69±19 points years; OSS 27±8 36±11 40±9 SSV 43±18% 66±24% 75±22% p < .01). At years, rate 51.7% 12.6% observed. While score 4.5±0.9 3.7±1.4 could not correlated better scores. Prior open repair, involvement subscapularis medial failure poorer (p .05). leads outcome, frequently observed mid-term Patients re-tears, however, do necessarily have than those healed tendons. Patient satisfaction lower when primary surgery performed technique, lesion present located musculotendinous junction.

Outcomes after arthroscopic revision rotator cuff repair.
BACKGROUND Although a number of reports have documented outcomes after open revision rotator cuff repair, there are few studies reporting results after arthroscopic revision. HYPOTHESIS Arthroscopic repair of failed rotator cuff results in significant improvement in shoulder functional outcome and pain relief. STUDY DESIGN Case series; Level of evidence, 4. METHODS Multiple variables incl...
متن کاملArthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is being performed by an increasing number of orthopaedic surgeons. The principles, techniques, and instrumentation have evolved to the extent that all patterns and sizes of rotator cuff tear, including massive tears, can now be repaired arthroscopically. Achieving a biomechanically stable construct is critical to biologic healing. The ideal repair construct mus...
متن کاملArthroscopic repair of complete tear of rotator cuff
Abstract Background: Rotator cuff tear is one of the most common causes of shoulder complaints in the elderly. Based on the severity and patient's condition, a variety of methods applies to manage the tear and surgery is an important method, which could be done by open or arthroscopic technique. The current study aimed to investigate and report short-term results of arthroscopic repair of...
متن کاملClinical outcomes of single-row arthroscopic revision rotator cuff repair.
This article reports the authors' experience with single-row arthroscopic revision rotator cuff repairs and analyzes the variables associated with a poorer long-term outcome. A retrospective review was performed of patients who had undergone an all-arthroscopic, single-row revision rotator cuff repair for pain with a documented re-tear over a 13-year period. After exclusionary criterion was app...
متن کاملArthroscopic Transosseous Rotator Cuff Repair
BACKGROUND Mechanical factors are at the basis of any tendon healing process, being pressure an aspect able to positively influence it. For this reason transosseous rotator cuff repair represents the gold standard procedure for patients affected by a cuff tear, maximizing the tendon footprint contact area and reducing motion at the tendon to bone interface. METHODS The Authors present an all ...
