Responses of Lilium hybrid 'Brindisi' to varying periods of waterlogging at vegetative stages

چکیده

Lilium species with ornamental, edible, and medicinal values are distributed all over the world. Little is known about responses of genotypes to waterlogging stress. hybrid 'Brindisi' was used study physiological roots, bulbs, leaves 1, 2, 4, 8, 13 d Results showed that stress seriously hindered transport nutrients from bulbs stems leaves. The indicators could be divided into two categories. first category parameters indicating plant damage. dry fresh masses leaves, chlorophyll (Chl) a, Chl b, a+b, carotenoid content decreased, malondialdehyde H2O2 increased under other regulate adaptability Among them, superoxide dismutase pyruvate decarboxylase activity changed little, proline significantly, soluble sugar protein content, ascorbate peroxidase (APX), catalase (CAT), alcohol dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase activities in early stage, decreased later stage turning point these 4 - 8 after Bulbs played an important role alleviating flooding waterlogging. APX CAT also eliminating ROS stage. This research lays foundation for on mechanism tolerance breeding waterlogging-tolerant cultivars spp.

Responses of Nitrogen Metabolism, Uptake and Translocation of Maize to Waterlogging at Different Growth Stages

We performed a field experiment using the maize hybrids DengHai605 (DH605) and ZhengDan958 (ZD958) to study nitrogen uptake and translocation, key enzyme activities of nitrogen metabolism in response to waterlogging at the third leaf stage (V3), the sixth leaf stage (V6), and the 10th day after the tasseling stage (10VT). Results showed that N accumulation amount was significantly reduced after...

Diverse postharvest responses of tomato fruits at different maturity stages to hot water treatment

Sensitivity of tomato fruits to chilling injury limits its storage and marketability. This study investigated the effect of hot water treatment (HWT) on reducing the consequences of chilling injury (CI) with respect to quality attributes of tomatoes during storage. Tomatoes were harvested at three ripening stages: mature green, pink, and red; dipped in hot water at 45°C for 15 min; and stored a...

Maize (Zea mays L.) Response to Nitrogen Fertilizer under Drought Stress at Vegetative and Reproductive Stages

In the sub-tropics, water and nitrogen are the most important factors limiting the grain yield of maize. The effect of nitrogen (N) rates and drought stress at different growth stages of maize were investigated. Nitrogen treatments consisted of 100, 150, and 200  kgN.ha-1 from the urea source while water stress treatments were composed of irrigation-off since the early 10-leaf stage to emergenc...

Value of Using Different Vegetative Indices to Quantify Agricultural Crop Characteristics at Different Growth Stages under Varying Management Practices

The paper investigates the value of using distinct vegetation indices to quantify and characterize agricultural crop characteristics at different growth stages. Research was conducted on four crops (corn, soybean, wheat, and canola) over eight years grown under different tillage practices and nitrogen management practices that varied rate and timing. Six different vegetation indices were found ...

evaluation of bulblet production capacity of vegetative cuttings of lilium oriental hybrid cv. ‘star gazer’

in this research, possibility of bulblet production from different cuttings including leaf, leaf-bud and leafy-stem of lilium oriental hybrid cv. ‘star gazer’ evaluated under different levels of indole-3-butyric acid (iba) with 0, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 mg per liter (ppm). the cuttings were taken from stems which grown from cold treated bulbs in early october. a factorial experiment was done in...
