Resistance of graphene oxide-modified cement pastes to hydrochloric acid attack

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study investigated the hydration, rheology, and diffusion resistance of cement pastes involving up to 0.09 wt% graphene oxide (GO) under constant exposure hydrochloric (HCl) acid for four weeks. Samples containing GO revealed a reduction in mass loss sectional area when compared control sample without any GO, highlighting potential inclusion improving matrix attack. While higher dosages reduced workability hydration fresh paste, use improved against HCl by densifying microstructure. The presence alumina-silica hydrogel was observed altered zones exposed specimens. this chemical change occurred all GO-modified pastes, micro-hardness than (i.e. GO). obtained results indicated that 0.045 increased leaching aluminium silicon ions, which could effectively prevent formation microcracks form protective barrier aggressive species extreme environments.

Uniformly Dispersed and Re-Agglomerated Graphene Oxide-Based Cement Pastes: A Comparison of Rheological Properties, Mechanical Properties and Microstructure

The properties of graphene oxide (GO)-based cement paste can be significantly affected by the state of GO dispersion. In this study, the effects of uniformly dispersed and re-agglomerated GO on the rheological, mechanical properties and microstructure of cement paste were systematically investigated. Two distinct dispersion states can be achieved by altering the mixing sequence: Polycarboxylate...

The Effect of Curing Temperature on the Properties of Cement Pastes Modified with TiO2 Nanoparticles

This paper investigates the effect of curing temperature on the hydration, microstructure, compressive strength, and transport of cement pastes modified with TiO₂ nanoparticles. These characteristics of cement pastes were studied using non-evaporable water content measurement, X-ray diffraction (XRD), compressive strength test, electrical resistivity and porosity measurements, and scanning elec...

Preparation and Mechanical Properties of Graphene Oxide: Cement Nanocomposites

We investigate the performance of graphene oxide (GO) in improving mechanical properties of cement composites. A polycarboxylate superplasticizer was used to improve the dispersion of GO flakes in the cement. The mechanical strength of graphene-cement nanocomposites containing 0.1-2 wt% GO and 0.5 wt% superplasticizer was measured and compared with that of cement prepared without GO. We found t...

Structural studies on hydrating cement pastes

The development of the mesoscopic material structure during the hydration of ordinary Portland cement paste is studied by small-angle neutron scattering. Results on the time dependence of radii of gyration (Guinier region) and exponents (Porod region) are given and discussed. Introduction Building materials like hardened cement are heterogeneous. Their useful properties (as strength, porosity, ...
