چکیده

Common bean rust, caused by Uromycesappendiculatus, is one of the most devastating diseases in common bean. Breeding for resistant cultivars effective and eco-friendly method disease control. Although there no targeted breeding program Bulgaria to create pathogen, periodic screening virulent diversity U. appendiculatus sources resistance identified races/pathotypes carried out. During last twenty years, four investigations were made estimate virulence pathogen population. Eleven races (20-0, 20-1, 20-2, 20-3, 20-19, 29-0, 29-1, 28-1, 52-3, 20-16 20-18) are identified, distributed Rhodope mountains North Bulgaria. Chronologically each studies was accompanied or followed a under field conditions. Еach study found different numbers accessions depending on potential population used. In three studies, that showed phenotype conditions screened against set races, country same time, greenhouse. Bulgarian cultivar ‘Beslet’ reaction greenhouse all investigation. The 20-1 20-19 governed single dominant gene. This can be successfully used race-specific resistance. Fifty with race-nonspecific resistance, expressed low intensity resistant/susceptible infection type, two

Acevedo, M., Steadman, J. R., and Rosas, J. C. 2013. Uromyces appendiculatus in Honduras: Pathogen diversity and host resistance screening. Plant Dis. 97:652-661. Bean rust, caused by the fungus Uromyces appendiculatus, is a major constraint for common bean production worldwide. Virulence of U. appendiculatus collected from wild and cultivated Phaseolus spp. was examined in 28 locations across ...

Marker-Assisted Molecular Profiling, Deletion Mutant Analysis, and RNA-Seq Reveal a Disease Resistance Cluster Associated with Uromyces appendiculatus Infection in Common Bean Phaseolus vulgaris L.

Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is an important legume, useful for its high protein and dietary fiber. The fungal pathogen Uromyces appendiculatus (Pers.) Unger can cause major loss in susceptible varieties of the common bean. The Ur-3 locus provides race specific resistance to virulent strains or races of the bean rust pathogen along with Crg, (Complements resistance gene), which is requir...

Genome-Wide Profiling of Histone Modifications (H3K9me2 and H4K12ac) and Gene Expression in Rust (Uromyces appendiculatus) Inoculated Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

Histone modifications such as methylation and acetylation play a significant role in controlling gene expression in unstressed and stressed plants. Genome-wide analysis of such stress-responsive modifications and genes in non-model crops is limited. We report the genome-wide profiling of histone methylation (H3K9me2) and acetylation (H4K12ac) in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) under rust (U...

Activation of Teliospore Germination in Uromyces appendiculatus var. appendiculatus. I. Aging and Temperature

The effects of aging and temperature on teliospore germination in Uromyces appendiculatus var. appendiculatus were studied. 1. Indoor storage was good at ~ 4 QC in the dirk. Under these conditions spores remained dormant for ~ 9 mo, but thereafter germination gradually increased to a maximum (~ 63 %) after 36 moo Spores .9tored outdoors showed a marked increase in germination after ~ 4 mo and r...
