The present work is in the framework of water resource control and optimization. Specifically, an advanced process system was designed implemented a hydroelectric power plant for management. Two reservoirs (connected through regulation gate) set turbines energy production constitute main elements process. In-depth data analysis carried out to determine variables major issues related previous conduction plant. A tailored modelization conducted, satisfactory fitting performances were obtained with linear models. In particular, first-principles equations combined data-based techniques. achievement reliable model availability forecasts measured disturbance variables—e.g., plan—motivated choice approach based on predictive methodology proposed account uncertainties, ad hoc mismatch compensation strategy designed. Virtual environment simulations meaningful scenarios confirmed validity reducing waste while meeting demand electric production. commissioned real plant, obtaining significant performance remarkable service factor.
