Researcher experiences in practice-based interdisciplinary research

Abstract This article reports on a study that followed up an initial interdisciplinary project and focused specifically the experiences of researchers involved in practice-based research. We share approach to research evaluation focuses those conducting rather than outputs. The allowed successful reflect post hoc their experiences. show neglecting fundamental conceptions about how is conceptualized can lead challenges with itself. In addition alternative understandings concepts, practical logistical issues, whilst seeming trivial, feed into communication issues such as misunderstanding terms language. argue tensions confusions around very nature research—what was being researched, what valued research, epistemological differences between disciplinary perspectives—need be explored interrogated order maximize benefits conclude considerations relationship team identity work members, implications this may have for design, area certainly needs further exploration.
