Research in porous structure of cellulose aerogel made from cellulose nanofibrils

In this study, a simple strategy to fabricate the cellulose aerogel with homogeneous porous structure and good compression strength properties has been demonstrated. The was simply prepared by adding styrene acrylic emulsion (SAE) TEMPO-oxidized nanofibrils (CNF), followed freeze-drying oven-heating, in which covalent bond between CNF SAE confirmed FT-IR. Meanwhile, regulation process of aerogels investigated varying CNF, addition carboxymethyl (CMC) SAE. results demonstrated that gradually improved increasing carboxyl content CNF. CMC could effectively increase specific surface area aerogel, achieving more preferred due elimination hornification. highly enhance uniformity up 184 m2/g, porosity 99%, successfully improve properties, showing fabricated as potential cushion packaging material.
