Replacing amine by azide: dopamine azide polymerization triggered by sodium periodate
نویسندگان
چکیده
We report the polymerization of dopamine analogue 4-(2-azidoethyl)benzene-1,2-diol (dopamine azide), where amine group is switched to azide, resulting in particles stable water but, contrast other polycatechol based polymers, soluble organic solvents.

Determination of sodium azide in beverages by ion chromatography.
A convenient method for determination of sodium azide in beverages using ion chromatography is described. This method combines the specificity for azide with a simple sample preparation using a bubble and trap apparatus that removes any interferences. Sodium azide in a sample was acidified, and the azide was converted to the volatile hydrazoic acid, which was trapped in 2.5 mM sodium hydroxide ...
متن کاملAbscission of Azolla branches induced by ethylene and sodium azide.
Treatment with ethylene accelerated the abscission of branches of Azolla filiculoides plants. An Azolla plantlet treated with ethylene at 10 microl liter(-1) divided into 4-5 fragments after a lag period of 6-8 h. Ethylene-induced abscission was effectively inhibited by cycloheximide and was associated with an increase in the activities of cellulase and polygalacturonase. At the fracture surfac...
متن کاملSodium azide enhancement of interleukin-2 production.
The production of large quantities of Interleukin-2 (IL-2) from normal human lymphocytes has been limited by the short production and release period, as well as its absorption by the responsive cell population. We report the utilization of sodium azide (NaN3, 0.01% final concentration) to allow continued production of IL-2 as long as 72-96 hr and thereby increase the yield significantly. Cell c...
متن کاملThe inhibition of caeruloplasmin by azide.
1. The inhibition of the oxidase activity of caeruloplasmin by azide was investigated at 25 degrees and 7.5 degrees . 2. The inhibition is reversible on dilution or Sephadex treatment, indicating a caeruloplasmin-azide complex. 3. The enzyme is protected against azide inhibition by chloride, acetate or EDTA, the last-named acting not by chelation but by a non-specific effect similar to that of ...
متن کاملSequential one-pot ruthenium-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition from primary alkyl halides and sodium azide.
An experimentally simple sequential one-pot RuAAC reaction, affording 1,5-disubstituted 1H-1,2,3-triazoles in good to excellent yields starting from an alkyl halide, sodium azide, and an alkyne, is reported. The organic azide is formed in situ by treating the primary alkyl halide with sodium azide in DMA under microwave heating. Subsequent addition of [RuClCp*(PPh(3))(2)] and the alkyne yielded...
