چکیده
Abstract Background: Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic condition occurring after trauma, even minor injuries. CRPS can be difficult to diagnose and treat, its pathophysiology incompletely understood. Diagnosis of based on history clinical examination. It clinically divided in 1 (no nerve injury) 2 (with injury). Neuroplastic reorganization within the sensorimotor cortex associated aggravates CRPS, leading secondary motor symptoms apraxia/neglect similar stroke, as well possible spread additional extremities. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) use for e.g. neuropathic pain, stroke rehabilitation, depression. Neuronavigated rTMS utilizing estimation induced electrical field (E-field) improves efficacy depression, but it has not been studied patients. The optimal cortical target site(s) protocol are neither known. Objectives: To study E-field-navigated with new targeted right parietal operculum function patients acute long-term maintenance therapy compared sham stimulation. pathophysiological mechanisms patient characteristics influencing rTMS-treatment results. Methods: In this prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled parallel group trial, we therapeutic effects 3-month follow-up at Turku Helsinki University Hospitals. Patients underwent examinations before 10-session serial treatment. Neurophysiological tests, mood, sleep were assessed baseline during follow-up. Results: 71 recruited, 62 participated. Sixty one-month control treatment period. Of these 45 had 15 2. results comparing active will analyzed repeated measures ANOVA, presented poster. [Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) therapy for Parkinson disease].
In repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), repetitive cortical stimulation induces after-effects, and rTMS has been applied as a treatment for various neurological or psychiatric disorders. Animal studies demonstrated that cortical stimulation could improve Parkinsonism, and a meta-analysis of clinical studies showed efficacy of high frequency rTMS. We conducted two clinical trials...

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an effective and novel treatment method that has been approved for the treatment of refractory depression by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The most common side effects of rTMS are a transient headache that usually responds to simple analgesics, local discomfort in the stimulation area, dizziness, ipsilateral lacrimation and, very r...

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common developmental disorder that is associated with environmental and genetic factors. Neurobiological evidence suggests that fronto-striatum-cerebellum circuit abnormalities, mainly in the right hemisphere, are responsible for most of the disturbed sensorimotor integration; dopamine seems to be the main neurochemical alteration unde...
متن کاملComplex Regional Pain Syndrome ( CRPS ) and Sympathectomy
Sympathectomy may provide temporary pain relief, but after a few weeks to months it loses its effect. Sympathectomy and the application of Chemical Sympathectomy (neurolytic agents e.g., phenol, alcohol, etc.) should be limited to patients with life expectancies measured in weeks or months e.g., cancer patients. Chemical Sympathectomy (e.g., alcohol, phenol or hypertonic saline nerve blocks) ai...
متن کاملSpread of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome(crps)
Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is usually caused by a minor injury, and requires proper evaluation and multi-disciplinary treatment addressing the multifaceted pathological processes that evolve during its chronic course. Patient’s age, the nature of pathology, and mode of therapy influence the outcome of treatment. If at all possible, surgery, ice and cast applications should be avoided...
