چکیده
Engineering the surface orientation of face-centered cubic (fcc) metals to close-packed {111} plane can significantly enhance their oxidation resistance. However, owing synergetic effect energy density (γ˙) and strain (ω), such currently only be achieved by atomic-level thin film epitaxy or monocrystallization polycrystalline metals. In this study, we characterized microstructures pure copper (Cu) foil two types graphene-coated Cu (Gr/Cu) foils observed a 12~14 nm thick reconstructed layer with in high-temperature deposited Gr/{001} surface. Combining statistical results thermodynamic analysis, proposed melting-solidification mechanism for reconstruction from {001} orientation. This process is dominated Gr/Cu interfacial particularly promoted melting. We also validated examining surfaces coated h-BN (hexagonal boron nitride) amorphous carbon. Our findings suggest possible strategy properties fcc via engineering crystallography.

On the wettability transparency of graphene-coated silicon surfaces.
In order to better understand the behavior and governing characteristics of the wetting transparency phenomenon observed in graphene-coated surfaces, molecular dynamics simulations were coupled with a theoretical model. Graphene-coated silicon was selected for this analysis, due to potential applications of hybrid silicon-graphene materials as detectors in aqueous environments. The results indi...
متن کاملDevelopment of highly faceted reduced graphene oxide-coated copper oxide and copper nanoparticles on a copper foil surface
This work describes the formation of reduced graphene oxide-coated copper oxide and copper nanoparticles (rGO-Cu2ONPs, rGO-CuNPs) on the surface of a copper foil supporting graphene oxide (GO) at annealing temperatures of 200-1000 °C, under an Ar atmosphere. These hybrid nanostructures were developed from bare copper oxide nanoparticles which grew at an annealing temperature of 80 °C under nitr...
متن کاملNew insights into the antimicrobial mechanisms of copper touch surfaces
Introduction / objectives Survival of pathogens on touch surfaces contributes to increasing incidence and spread of antibiotic resistance and infection in hospitals. One way to address this could be to use biocidal surfaces in conjunction with improved cleaning regimes. Exposure to moist copper alloy surfaces, to simulate fomite contamination, resulted in a rapid kill of significant bacterial, ...
متن کاملUnderstanding the growth mechanism of graphene on Ge/Si(001) surfaces
The practical difficulties to use graphene in microelectronics and optoelectronics is that the available methods to grow graphene are not easily integrated in the mainstream technologies. A growth method that could overcome at least some of these problems is chemical vapour deposition (CVD) of graphene directly on semiconducting (Si or Ge) substrates. Here we report on the comparison of the CVD...
متن کاملEffect of post-annealing on the plasma etching of graphene-coated-copper.
High temperature deposition of graphene on Cu by chemical vapor deposition can be used to produce high quality films. However, these films tend to have a non-equilibrium structure, with relatively low graphene adhesion. In this study, samples of graphene grown on copper foils by high temperature CVD were post-deposition annealed at temperatures well below the critical temperature of Cu. Resista...
