Reno-Inst: An ontology to support renovation projects planning and renovation products installation

While the use of semantic models has been explored in different areas Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry to map formalize knowledge support tasks, building renovation seems be a neglected area this field. Therefore, paper presents Renovation-Installation (Reno-Inst) ontology, which maps from domain considering requirements, constraints, other elements related installation common products such as windows, thermal insulation panels, heat radiators. The development Reno-Inst ontology relies on an approach combining input experts engineering documents. verification validation process includes content evaluation workshop with experts, design stage, analysis implementation real case study. provides another example power ontologies method for mapping representing knowledge, gathering, retrieving relevant information.
