ReNEW: A Practical Module for Reliable Routing in Networks of Energy-Harvesting Wireless Sensors

It is a huge challenge to run IoT devices/sensors powered solely through ambient harvested energy. Since the energy less and stochastic in nature, it extremely challenging achieve low latency high reliability. To this end, we propose distributed, energy-management module called ReNEW, using Constructive Interference (CI) our target of increased reliability, especially harvesting regimes. We choose CI-based protocols leverage guarantees. Specifically, Markov-Decision model maximize utility infinite horizon by allocating optimally threshold-optimal policy. an scheduler insufficient distributed techniques conserve on redundant nodes network, dynamically activate them based feedback. implement ReNEW Indriya FlockLab testbeds for real-world scenarios network 20 source out 30 nodes. collects data periodically with 2.5 times higher packet reception compared LWB when as 50μJ/s 100B packets every 30s saving 25% residual In nutshell, integrating CI protocols, enable guaranteed reliability battery-less devices/networks.
