چکیده

Soil and water pollution caused by heavy metals can result in health challenges such as cancer. Therefore, this study was aimed at testing the ability of Aspergillus fumigatus Rhizopus sp. isolated from cassava grinding mill environment to reduce, bio-accumulate tolerate Cr (VI) Norkran’s medium. Fungal isolates were obtained soil samples using 2 % malt extract agar. reduction potential fungal cells done shake flask method. REMOVAL OF Cr (VI) FROM WASTE WATER USING NiO NANOPARTICLES

The synthesis of NiO nanoparticles was done by sol-gel method. Nickel Acetate Tetrahydrate ((CH3COO)2 –Ni·4H2O) was dissolved in ethanol with constant stirring to obtain a clear and light greenish sol. Oxalic acid solution was used to obtain a thick green gel, then dried in an oven to get dried gel and was then grinded into fine powders and calcined for different time periods to obtain nanocrys...

Biological removal of zinc from wastewater using Aspergillus sp

The present study was conducted on removal of zinc in a continuous flow system by Aspergillus sp. during its growth. The fungal strain was isolated from industrial wastewater. The experiments under continuous culture conditions were performed in two reactors of working volume 650ml and 3 litres respectively. The experiments were conducted using sugar concentrations of 10, 15 and 20g/l and at di...

Cr (VI) and Fe (III) removal using Cajanus cajan husk.

Husk of tur dal (Cajanus cajan) was investigated as a new biosorbent for the removal of Fe (III) and Cr (VI) ions from aqueous solutions. Parameters like agitation time, adsorbent dosage and pH were studied at different initial Fe (III) and Cr (VI) concentrations. The biosorptive capacity of the Tur dal husk was dependent on the pH of the chromium and iron solution, with pH 2 and 2.5 respective...

Removal of As(V), Cr(VI) and Pb(II) from aqueous solution using surfactant-modified Sabzevar nanozeolite

The pollution of water environments is a challenging issue especially in developing countries. Contamination of drinking water with heavy metals has been reported in many parts of the world. Arsenic, chromium and lead are dangerous heavy metals and also common contaminants of drinking water. In this study, the capacity and performance of the surfactant-modified Sabzevar natural nanozeolite (SMS...
