چکیده
Removal of an impacted maxillary third molar can be challenging for both dental clinicians and oral surgeons. Frequently encountered complications include infection, pain, swelling, root fractures, trismus, haemorrhage. In addition, unexpected displacement the may during extraction process. This case report presents a displaced to infratemporal fossa, as well removal tooth following 1 month, along with causative factors. The roles orthopantomography volumetric tomography scans in determining localization are discussed, together different surgical options risks from fossa.

Removal of a Maxillary Third Molar Displaced into Pterygopalatine Fossa via Intraoral Approach
The removal of impacted maxillary third molars is one of the most common procedures performed in oral and maxillofacial surgery units with low rates of complications and morbidity. A few cases of accidental displacement of third molars into adjacent anatomical spaces, such as the infratemporal fossa, the pterygomandibular space, the maxillary sinus, buccal space, or the lateral pharyngeal space...

Removal of an impacted superior third molar is usually a simple and uncomplicated procedure for an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Nevertheless, complications are possible and include infection, facial swallowing, trismus, wound dehiscence, root fracture or even orosinusal fistula. Iatrogenic displacement into the infratemporal fossa is frequently mentioned but rarely reported. This anatomical ...

Removal of a maxillary third molar is a common dental procedure, and oral surgeons rarely experience accidental displacement of a maxillary impacted third molar into the maxillary sinus as a complication of this procedure. In the case in which such displacement occurs, the molar is removed via a transantral (Caldwell-Luc) approach through bone removal or window osteotomy of the anterior wall of...

Displacement of maxillary third molar into the infratemporal fossa (ITF) is frequently mentioned but rarely reported. A case of dislocation of a maxillary third molar into the ITF is described. Imaging included CT scan that demonstrated the 3-D anatomical localization of the tooth. The tooth was found to be in the ITF, between the lateral wall of the maxillary sinus and the zygomatic arch. The ...
