Remote sensing of urban green spaces: A review

چکیده

A knowledge of the characteristics urban green spaces (UGSs) such as their abundance, spatial distribution and species composition, has an important role in a range fields geography, planning public health. Remote sensing technologies have made great contributions to analysis UGSs. However, comprehensive review current status, challenges potential this area is lacking. In paper, we scrutinize major trends remote approaches for characterising UGSs evaluate effectiveness different systems analytical techniques. The results suggest that number studies focusing on mapping classifying within increased rapidly over recent decades. there are fewer examples non-tree mapping, change detection, biomass carbon vegetation health assessment Most focused (mainly trees) which cover large areal extents, with smaller patches street trees, gardens, recreational parks, even though collectively can substantial areas.
