Remediation of heavy metal(loid) contaminated soil through green nanotechnology

چکیده
Modern industrialization is progressively degrading soil quality due to heavy metal contamination. Heavy (HM) contamination of agricultural has gained considerable attention its rapidly increasing levels. Nanoparticles (NPs) have unique physicochemical properties that make them effective stress relievers. Material science recently been emphasizing “green” synthesis as a reliable, environmentally friendly, and sustainable method synthesizing different kinds materials, such alloys, oxides, hybrids, bioinspired materials. Therefore, green can be viewed an tool reduce the detrimental effects traditional nanoparticle methods commonly used in laboratories industries. The review briefly describes biosynthesis NPs, use nanobiotechnology remediate metal-contaminated soil, effect NPs on growth development plants, behavior within plants when exposed pollutants mechanisms alleviate HM stress. In addition, broad overview major types nanomaterials so far bioremediation toxic recent advances regarding possible by which interact system are also discussed.

Remediation of soil contaminated with the heavy metal (Cd2+).
Soil contamination by heavy metals is increasing. The biosorption process for removal of the heavy metal Cd(2+) from contaminated soil is chosen for this study due to its economy, commercial applications, and because it acts without destroying soil structure. The study is divided into four parts (1) soil leaching: the relationships between the soil leaching effect and agitation rates, solvent c...
متن کاملReducing Agents Enhanced Electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) for Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil
Reducing agents-Enhanced electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) was performed for the removal of chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) from contaminated soil. The reducing agents oxalic acid and ascorbic acid were investigated under constant voltage gradient (2.0 V/cm), current changes, pH, redox potential, concentration changes and removal performance of Heavy Metals (HMs). The result...
متن کاملA Numerical Model of the Soil Flushing Remediation in Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil
This paper presents a 1D numerical model developed to simulate the EDTA chelation process of metal (lead) applied to a soil flushing remediation action. The model considers the non–stationary conditions, typical of unsaturated soil. Flow and transport equations are solved simultaneously. Metal mobilization is evaluated considering both the chemical aspects of chelating agents and the characteri...
متن کاملRemediation of MTBE Contaminated Water and Soil
As the number of leaking underground fuel tank sites with MTBE contamination continues to grow, there is a need to develop cost-effective solutions for treatment of soil and water contamination. MTBE poses special challenges due to its physicochemical properties, in particular high solubility and low Henry’s constant, low affinity for sorption, and very slow rate of microbial degradation. Advan...
متن کاملThermal Remediation of Tar-Contaminated Soil and Oil-Contaminated Gravel
Pilot plant studies were carried out to evaluate the feasibility of remediation of coal tarcontaminated soil and oil-contaminated gravel by incineration with environmentally acceptable performance. In addition to adequate decontamination and emission control, effort was devoted to treating the special feedstocks with difficult handling properties by use of conventional combustion and feeding sy...
