Reliability Evaluation of Standalone Microgrid Based on Sequential Monte Carlo Simulation Method

In order to analyze the influence of uncertainty and an operation strategy on reliability a standalone microgrid, evaluation method based sequential Monte Carlo (SMC) simulation was developed. Here, duty cycles microturbine (MT), stochastic performance photovoltaics (PV), wind turbine generators (WTG) were considered. Moreover, time-varying load with random fluctuation modeled. this method, available capacity energy storage system (ESS) also comprehensively considered by SMC simulation. Then, framework established from perspectives probability, frequency, duration, algorithms under different strategies formulated. Lastly, WTG PV penetration equipment evaluated in test system. The results showed that complementary characteristics solar enhancement can both improve reliability; but, increase rate PV, more ESS is needed cope randomness PV. addition, shedding minimization minimize probability number reductions achieve optimal reliability, which provide reference for formulation microgrid strategies.
