Relationship with the land as a foundation for ecosystem stewardship

We examined the hypothesis that adapting to ecosystem change on working landscapes can be enhanced by supporting place‐based stewardship values of landowners. On basis responses a survey more than 500 landowners across landscape dominated lands, we clustered into five groups based their sense place meanings. Relationships with land are differentiated degree which an owner’s makes positive contributions well‐being and supports livelihoods.
