Relationship between perceived stress and religious/spiritual coping in pregnant women with malformed foetus

Congenital Foetal Malformity (CFM) is a stress factor for pregnant women, and religiosity spirituality have an important role to play in coping with it. The aim of this study was identify the correlation between stress, as perceived by women CFM, diverse forms religious/spiritual (RSC). This cross-sectional treated hospital specializing obstetrics city Brasília, located Federal District Brazil. sample comprised 99 expectant mothers. Religious/spiritual measured using RCOPE scale devised Pargament, Koenig Perez (2000) which subsequently translated into Portuguese adapted Brazil Panzini Bandeira. Stress evaluated Perceived Scale Cohen, Kamarck Mermelstein (1983), validated Luft et al. (2007). For purposes analysis, SPSS-IBM 22.0 software application employed, statistical analysis means, standard deviations frequencies, along Chi-Squared (elevated power – 0.77) Logistical Regression tests aimed at evaluating relationship type RSC. results indicated that 92.8% CFM presented positive (PRSC), mean value 41.17 ± 9.03, there being inverse PRSC (p = 0.02).
