Relationship between auditory processing skills and academic achievement of elementary school children

Aim. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of auditory processing difficulties in children and examine possible relationships between skills school success. Method. In this study, a screening test Auditory disorder - (Croatian: PSP 1) was used elementary Croatia. Furthermore, correlations test, grade point average, subjective assessment scores for reading, writing, math were analyzed. A total 412 participants from mainstream schools grouped based on their chronological age grade. Results. The findings revealed that 12 (approximately 2.9%) exhibited assessed tasks, which is consistent with data other studies indicating 2% 5% have an disorder. Specifically, two tasks involving dichotic listening proved be most challenging all participants. results indicated students' academic performance, as measured by average teachers' ratings language skills, poorer students having pronounced when compared same-grade peers.
