TOPIC: Lung Pathology TYPE: Medical Student/Resident Case Reports INTRODUCTION: Reinke's edema is a benign disease (polypoid degeneration) of vocal folds. CASE PRESENTATION: A 73-year-old female with 30 pack smoking history hypertension on lisinopril admitted due to hoarseness hemoptysis. Lisinopril held concern possible angioedema well. respiratory status remained she discharged an otolaryngologist follow-up outpatient after stopped. Also, importance cessation emphasized before discharge. DISCUSSION: also "polypoid corditis" swelling entire layer propria, occurs almost exclusively smokers, particularly females. Smoking causes irritation tissues surrounding them, thereby increasing capillary permeability induces edematous polypoid degeneration cords.
