چکیده
Wastelands of the mining industry are among largest disturbed areas that demand revitalization. To reduce environmental impact and to better manage these geo-resources, formation sustainable plant soil complexes restoration self-recovery function critical points. The successful return vegetative cover at post-mining sites requires eliminating deficiency organic matter. For this, we assessed usability non-traditional ameliorants provide a understanding benefits from mutual dependencies resources. prevent losses close resource cycles, studied applicability wastewater sludge pulp paper (SPP) as an amendment counteract degradation rehabilitate human-disturbed lands. Waste rock limestone, beresite, phosphogypsum substrates were used in vitro for application peat mixture consequent grass seeding. formed was analyzed compare germination biomass growth on reconstructed soils. We efficiency ameliorant combinations by two approaches: (1) traditional technique cutting-off material measure obtained biomass, (2) digital image analysis RGB-processed photographs (r2 = 0.75–0.95). effect SPP height showed similar results: land rehabilitation with 20 cm layer mine waste dumps environmentally suitable SPP:soil ratio 1:3. However, excessive (ratio 1:1 soil) negatively affected seed vegetation.

Background and purpose: Disposing sludge from industrial wastewater treatment plants (IWWTPs) is a serious issue because it can affect human and animals health, and also environmental quality. In this study, sludge from an IWWTP was analyzed regarding its physicochemical characteristics and disposal options. Materials and Methods: Grab sampling was used to collect 12 sludge samples biweekly (Ma...
متن کاملElectrokinetic enhancement removal of heavy metals from industrial wastewater sludge.
An enhanced electrokinetic process for removal of metals (Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn) from an industrial wastewater sludge was performed. The electrokinetic experiments were conducted under a constant potential gradient (1.25 V cm(-1)) with processing fluids of tap water (TW), sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) and citric acid (CA) for 5 days. Results showed that metal removal efficiency of heavy metals f...

15 صفحه اولMetagenomic Reconstruction of Key Anaerobic Digestion Pathways in Municipal Sludge and Industrial Wastewater Biogas-Producing Systems
Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a microbial process widely used to treat organic wastes. While the microbes involved in digestion of municipal sludge are increasingly well characterized, the taxonomic and functional compositions of AD digesters treating industrial wastewater have been understudied. This study examined metagenomes from a biogas-producing digester treating municipal sludge in Shek Wu...
