Regional Stability Analysis of Transitional Fluid Flows

چکیده

A method to bound the maximum energy perturbation for which regional stability of transitional fluid flow models can be guaranteed is introduced. The proposed exploits fact that model’s nonlinearities are both lossless and locally bounded uses axes lengths ellipsoids trajectory set containment as variables in conditions. Compared existing approaches based on quadratic constraints, leads an average increase allowable ≈ 29% 4-state Waleffe-Kim-Hamilton (WKH) shear model 38% 9-state reduced Couette flow.
