Regional monitoring frameworks for the circular economy: implications from a territorial perspective
نویسندگان
چکیده
Progress in implementing circular solutions European regions has so far been limited. This is partly due to the multifaceted territorial contexts characterizing continent. Ultimately, understanding of dynamics key envisage a successful transition economy (CE). However, CE discussion from regional standpoint still limited and frameworks that can be applied monitor measure potential specific territory remain at rather theoretical level. paper contributes this research gap by (1) presenting monitoring framework across three case studies; (2) analysing respective patterns perspective. The studies include central cross-border Scandinavian area, Switzerland Liechtenstein, Duchy Luxembourg. results reveal initiatives are generally designed on basis available local resources and, depending these, strategies seek optimize technical and/or biological cycles economies. Furthermore, increasing levels waste generation observed all challenge traditional policy approaches, centred end-of-life management, favour more ambitious aimed optimizing use preventing waste.

Consumers’ Perspective on Circular Economy Strategy for Reducing Food Waste
The current linear system of production and consumption is unsustainable. In the food sector, despite the fact that valuable natural resources are intensively used to produce and distribute food products, little is done to upcycle residues generated along the supply chain. Circular economy strategies are crucial for restructuring the take-make-dispose model through the active participation of a...

BACKGROUND It is essential that the human race limits the environmental damage created by our consumption. A realistic pathway to limiting consumption would be to transition to a system where materials are conserved and cycled through the economy as many times as possible and as slowly as possible, greatly reducing the greenhouse gas intensive processes of resource extraction, resource processi...
