چکیده

We report results from continued timing observations of PSR J0740+6620, a high-mass, 2.8 ms radio pulsar in orbit with likely ultracool white dwarf companion. Our data set consists combined pulse arrival-time measurements made the 100 m Green Bank Telescope and Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment telescope. explore significance timing-based phenomena arising general relativistic dynamics variations dispersion. When using various statistical methods, we find that combining ∼1.5 yr additional, high-cadence previous confirms improves on estimates effects within J0740+6620 system, mass (68.3% credibility) determined by Shapiro time delay. For first time, measure secular variation orbital period argue this effect arises apparent acceleration due to significant transverse motion. After incorporating contributions Galactic differential rotation off-plane potential, obtain model-dependent distance kpc credibility). This improved nature companion recent optical observations. discuss prospects for future next-generation facilities, which will improve precision mp an order magnitude next few years.

High precision mass measurements for wine metabolomics

An overview of the critical steps for the non-targeted Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-Q-ToF-MS) analysis of wine chemistry is given, ranging from the study design, data preprocessing and statistical analyses, to markers identification. UPLC-Q-ToF-MS data was enhanced by the alignment of exact mass data from FTICR-MS, a...

Martian Residents: Mass Media and Ramsar High Background Radiation Areas

Considering current controversies regarding the health effects of low doses of ionizing radiation, study of the high background radiation areas such as Ramsar, Iran can help scientists better evaluate the validity of linear no-threshold (LNT) hypothesis. Ramsar is a coastal city in northern Iran with some areas known to have the highest levels of natural background radiation in the world. The m...

Recycled pulsars with black hole companions: the high mass analogues of PSR B2303+46

We investigate the possibility that mass transfer early in the evolution of a massive binary can effect a reversal of the end states of the two components, resulting in a neutron star which forms before a black hole. In this sense, such systems would comprise the high-mass analogues of white dwarf-neutron star systems such as PSR B2303+46. One consequence of this reversal is that a second episo...
