Three-dimensional battery architectures.
The worldwide thirst for portable consumer electronics in the 1990s had an enormous impact on portable power. Lithium ion batteries, in which lithium ions shuttle between an insertion cathode (e.g., LiCoO2) and an insertion anode (e.g., carbon), emerged as the power source of choice for the highperformance rechargeable-battery market. The performance advantages were so significant that lithium ...
متن کاملUniversal Approximator Property of the Space of Hyperbolic Tangent Functions
In this paper, first the space of hyperbolic tangent functions is introduced and then the universal approximator property of this space is proved. In fact, by using this space, any nonlinear continuous function can be uniformly approximated with any degree of accuracy. Also, as an application, this space of functions is utilized to design feedback control for a nonlinear dynamical system.
متن کاملWeak Banach-Saks property in the space of compact operators
For suitable Banach spaces $X$ and $Y$ with Schauder decompositions and a suitable closed subspace $mathcal{M}$ of some compact operator space from $X$ to $Y$, it is shown that the strong Banach-Saks-ness of all evaluation operators on ${mathcal M}$ is a sufficient condition for the weak Banach-Saks property of ${mathcal M}$, where for each $xin X$ and $y^*in Y^*$, the evaluation op...
متن کاملSpace as a Semiotic Object: A Three-Dimensional Model of Vertical Structure of Space in Calvino’s Invisible Cities
Following the “spatial turn” of the last 3 decades in humanities and social sciences and the structure of semiotic object, this research studies space as the main semiotic object of Calvino’s (1972) Invisible Cities. Significance of this application resides in examining the possibility of providing a more concrete methodology based on the integration of Zoran’s (1984) 3 vertical levels of const...
متن کاملFolding of the triangular lattice in a discrete three-dimensional space: density-matrix renormalization-group study.
Folding of the triangular lattice in a discrete three-dimensional space is investigated numerically. Such "discrete folding" has come about through theoretical investigation, since Bowick and co-workers introduced it as a simplified model for the crumpling of the phantom polymerized membranes. So far, it has been analyzed with the hexagon approximation of the cluster variation method (CVM). How...
