Reducing ground borne noise due to railways: A practical application

چکیده

The construction of new buildings very close to existing tracks, with heavy commuting traffic, requires careful design. Such projects must be accompanied noise and vibration reduction measures. practical case here considered has been analysed by first assessing the situation prior (type soil traffic). In a second stage, we have proposed quantified solutions reduce ground-borne levels inside buildings. A 2.5D FEM/BEM commercial software (Mefissto), developed CSTB, employed in what is challenging numerical context: multi-layered ground, large multi-levels buildings, frequency range (10–250 Hz). every situation, use an original 2.75D approach leads low As trackwork cannot, this case, modified tested consist inserting different types barriers ground or either spring resilient bearings (decoupling) lower part structure. Results are compared target values terms selected order limit dwellings occupants’ annoyance. Satisfactory results can only achieved decoupling solution.

A numerical model for ground-borne vibrations and re- radiated noise in buildings from underground railways

An efficient and modular numerical prediction model is presented to predict vibrations and re-radiated noise in buildings due to metro trains. The approach comprises of three weakly coupled problems: the dynamic vehicle-track-tunnel-soil interaction problem, the dynamic soil-structure interaction problem and the calculation of the acoustic response inside the rooms. The three-dimensional dynami...

Numerical modelling of ground-borne noise and vibration in buildings due to surface rail traffic

This paper deals with the numerical computation of the structural and acoustic response of a building to an incoming wave field generated by high-speed surface railway traffic. The source model consists of a moving vehicle on a longitudinally invariant track, coupled to a layered ground modelled with a boundary element formulation. The receiver model is based on a substructuring formulation and...

Floating Track Slab Systems for Reducing Ground- Borne Noise and Vibration from Rail Vehicles

This investigation explores both the theoretical and empirical modelling of the dynamic performance of floating slab track systems used for reducing groundborne noise and vibration from rail transit systems. Accurately predicting the performance of floating slab track systems is important to the success of a new rail project. In general it has been observed that analytical and numerical models ...

Reducing phase noise degradation due to vibration of crystal oscillators

In the radio communications industry, one major problem is the vibration induced on to a frequency standard. The most commonly used frequency standard is the crystal oscillator; as the crystal oscillator gets vibrated with varying force and frequencies of vibration the phase noise of the signal changes. As the phase noise increases, the signal to noise ratio decreases causing the likelihood of ...
