Reduced creeping bentgrass fairway reflectance following synthetic colorant application

چکیده
Repeated measures using multispectral radiometry resolutely quantify canopy attributes of identical turfgrass cultivars under similar management. Concern regarding radiometric characterization canopies <24 h following synthetic phthalocyanine colorant application has been affirmed and is accordingly now avoided; yet explicit guidance on subsequent employ, at time(s) > 24-h postapplication, lacking. Our objective assessed how petroleum-derived spray oil (PDSO) Cu II (CPC) combination product influences creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.) reflectance up to 10 d application. A maintained fairway received semimonthly 9.76 kg ha–1 soluble N treatments alone or in with 27 L PDSO+CPC ha–1. Treatment by increased mean shoot growth (kg ha–1) dark green color index (DGCI) calculated visible waveband reflectance. Yet reduced far red near infrared from treated plots artificially deflated normalized differential vegetative indices. Cautious interpretation indices relying 710-to-810-nm encouraged when evaluating fairways PDSO product(s).

Printed on recycled paper SUMMER 2001 24 A Healthy Ecosystem Inconsistent performance of biological control strategies for turfgrass disease control has limited the adoption of this technology into IPM programs. A major contributing factor to this variable performance in agricultural systems is the cultivar to which biological control organisms are applied. In a recent study, our goal was to de...

Moss (Bryum argenteum) continues to become one of the most problematic weeds in creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris) putting greens. Control of moss can be approached in many different ways, including chemical applications, and cultural practices such as correcting shading or poor drainage. A study was conducted at Springdale Country Club (Springdale, Ark.) to evaluate the effectiveness of s...

متن کاملRNA-Seq Analysis of the Sclerotinia homoeocarpa – Creeping Bentgrass Pathosystem
Sclerotinia homoeocarpa causes dollar spot disease, the predominate disease on highly-maintained turfgrass. Currently, there are major gaps in our understanding of the molecular interactions between S. homoeocarpa and creeping bentgrass. In this study, 454 sequencing technology was used in the de novo assembly of S. homoeocarpa and creeping bentgrass transcriptomes. Transcript sequence data obt...

Herbicide-resistant creeping bentgrass plants (Agrostis stolonifera L.) without antibiotic-resistant markers were produced by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. Embryogenic callus tissues were infected with Agrobacterium tumefaciens EHA105, harboring the bar and the CP4-EPSPS genes for bialaphos and glyphosate resistance. Phosphinothricin-resistant calli and plants were selected. Soil-grown...
