Abstract Structural art should not be marginalised as an integral part of structural design. By reviewing historical understandings art, this article discusses the ambiguous and neglected perspective on architectural design human perception dimensions, concentrating attention question aesthetic perception. Based significant changes in how is perceived due to recent neuroaesthetics research, introduces findings from cognitive neuroscience regarding embodied principles, sheds new light experiences inherent built environment, clarifies expands previously held beliefs about art.
