Recycling of post-use starch-based plastic bags through pyrolysis to produce sulfonated catalysts and chemicals

چکیده

• Pyrolysis and sulfonation convert starch-based plastic (SBP) bags into SO 3 H-catalyst. H-catalyst from SBP-bags well-catalyzes the esterification of fatty acids. is robust recyclable for more than 7 cycles. Highly pure terephthalic acid self-precipitates pyrolysis liquid. liquid enriched in levoglucosan, adipic monobutenyl esters. was explored as a technology depolymerizing charring novel valorization perspective based on chemical recycling strategy, alternative to anaerobic digestion or composting. The char obtained thermal treatment (420°C 15 h) sulfonated give highly active heterogeneous catalyst (10 wt% yield subjected pyrolysis), comparable terms catalytic activity reusability analog prepared potato starch tested model reaction. From bags, (4 yield) isolated through self-precipitation, whereas remaining produced (21 wt%) solvent-fractionated polar fraction (7 less (14 adipate terephthalate.
