چکیده

An account is presented of successfully implemented Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) with recycling to high value products, help overcome barriers and generate confidence in moving towards Circular Economy (CE) business models. A template for organisations proposing recycle a thermoplastic provided by describing appropriate tests considerations implementing the recovery re-use impact polystyrene (HIPS) based on practical, industry case. Simulating repeated 100% closed loop reprocessing production scrap, original HIPS has been injection molded produce tensile test pieces, reground reprocessed eight times. Assessing present results together literature, scrap possible without need remedial compounding step, or changes processing parameters. Integral EPR model plastic from returned end-of-life (EoL) relation in-use environment, studies effects UV exposure virgin material show that significant property degradation can occur. However, indoor use, as case, this not seen. Within CE it desirable use blends recovered originating different resin manufacturers. Feeding dry blend regrind directly molding machine proved satisfactory, avoiding compounding/pelletizing step. As an outcome study, products are being manufactured EoL environmentally economically positive plan.

Impact, thermal and biodegradation properties of high impact polystyrene/corn starch blends processed via melt extrusion

High impact polystyrene (HIPS)/corn starch blends were prepared in presence of glycerol as a plasticizer via melt extrusion process by a twin-screw extruder. The novelty of this work is first, because of the use of pre-gelatinized corn starch as modified one and second, the procedure of making blends by extruder which makes it ease of access and also industrially possible. The blends were then ...

The EU Circular Economy and Its Relevance to Metal Recycling

This paper provides an overview of ongoing European policy actions to improve the circular management of non-ferrous metals. After explaining why metals are at the center of the European Union’s circular economy initiative, the authors outline a number of issues that still need tackling to “close the loop”, and prevent Europe’s metals from being landfilled, incinerated, or exported without guar...

Stock Market Bubbles and Business Cycles: A DSGE Model for the Iranian Economy

T his paper investigates the movement between stock market bubbles and fluctuations in aggregate variables within a DSGE model for the Iranian economy. We apply a new Keynesian monetary framework with nominal rigidity in wages and prices based on the study by Ikeda (2013), which is developed with appropriate framework for the Iranian economy. We consider central bank behavior differe...
