Recovery of Valuable Metals by Roasting of Jarosite in Cement Kiln

The jarosite residue is a harmful byproduct of the zinc hydrometallurgical process and has been classified as hazardous waste due to its high content heavy metals poor stability. In this work, recovery valuable by synergistic disposal with cement kiln investigated. A series investigations were undertaken assess effect amount residue, roasting time, addition CaCl2 on phase transformation migration elements in clinker. When 25% was added raw materials roasted at 1400 °C for 30 min, silicate clinker reached 54.4%. presence mineralizer, volatilization rates Pb Zn 93% 75%, respectively. results indicated that can be used additive recovered simultaneously during process.
