چکیده
Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Trouessart, 1897) (Acariformes: Astigmata: Pyroglyphidae) is amongst the most common house dust mites (HDMs) species in Europe. Vacuuming commonly employed as a method for recovery subsequent quantification of mite densities. The vacuuming protocols and their efficiencies are frequently unreported. In this study, constant-flow vacuum sampler was used to evaluate laboratory-reared D. from cotton, denim or fleece. Two were employed. Protocol 1 (P1) entailed single unidirectional pass head across fabrics 60, 90 120 seconds. For 2 (P2), vacuumed twice (laterally followed by diagonally) same time periods. carried out on seeded with live (LM), dead (DM), mites, which applied fabric surfaces 10 minutes then euthanized freezing prior sampling (EM). There significant difference (P<0.001) mean HDMs regard viability (LM, DM, EM), type (cotton, denim, fleece), duration (60, 90, 120s) (P1, P2). numbers recovered fleece (compared cotton denim) lower each treatment where LM EM deployed. Overall, use protocol resulted greatest percentage (>80%) all combined. Recovery rates also influenced entrapment (or active attachment) microstructure within weave. results have implications standardisation means vacuuming.

Analysis of expression and amino acid sequence of the allergen Mag 3 in two species of house dust mites-Dermatophagoides farinae and D. pteronyssinus (Acari: Astigmata: Pyroglyphidae).
In the 90's of the XX century, 2 new and important allergens of house dust mites mites were cloned and sequenced: Mag 1 and Mag 3. However, the second allergen has been identified to date only in extracts of Dermatophagoides farinae [DF ]. In this work, we aimed to detect expression of this important allergen and for the first time analyze to the amino acid sequence in other species of house du...
متن کاملResidual activity of benzyl benzoate against Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Acari: Pyroglyphidae).
The residual effect of a commercial spray containing 2.0% benzyl benzoate against Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus was evaluated in the laboratory. Filter papers treated with benzyl benzoate were dried for 2 hours and placed in Petri dishes. Adult mites were then added and mortality was assessed following 24 hour contact and at succeeding 4 weeks intervals up to week 28 post-treatment using the s...

Group 1 Allergen Genes in Two Species of House Dust Mites, Dermatophagoides farinae and D. pteronyssinus (Acari: Pyroglyphidae): Direct Sequencing, Characterization and Polymorphism
Group 1 allergens of Dermatophagoides farinae (Der f 1) and D. pteronyssinus (Der p 1) dominate overall allergic responses in house dust mite allergy patients. The need for accurate identification and characterization of representative variants of group 1 allergens in any given geographic locality has been emphasized for development of appropriate allergen extracts. Regional amino acid sequence...
متن کاملFactors affecting the carrying capacity (K) of a mattress for the house dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Acari: Pyroglyphidae)
Experiments were conducted in order to determine the effects of carrying capacity (K) on populations of the house dust mite (HDM) Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Trouessart) within a mattress. Initial experiments were conducted using a set amount of food, thereby providing the mites with a finite environment, in terms of food and space (for the purposes of this experiment HDMs lived in the food...
