Abstract We investigate several questions related to the notion of recognizable morphism. The main result is a new proof Mossé’s theorem and actually generalization more general class morphisms due Berthé et al [Recognizability for sequences morphisms. Ergod. Th. & Dynam. Recognizability for Sequences of Morphisms
We investigate different notions of recognizability for a free monoid morphism σ : A∗ → B∗. Full recognizability occurs when each (aperiodic) point in BZ admits at most one tiling with words σ(a), a ∈ A. This is stronger than the classical notion of recognizability of a substitution σ : A∗ → A∗, where the tiling must be compatible with the language of the substitution. We show that if |A| = 2, ...
متن کاملThe constant of recognizability is computable for primitive morphisms
Mossé proved that primitive morphisms are recognizable. In this paper we give a computable upper bound for the constant of recognizability of such a morphism. This bound can be expressed only using the cardinality of the alphabet and the length of the longest image under the morphism of a letter.
متن کاملOn morphisms of crossed polymodules
In this paper, we prove that the category of crossed polymodules (i.e. crossed modules of polygroups) and their morphisms is finitely complete. We, therefore, generalize the group theoretical case of this completeness property of crossed modules.
متن کاملThe Recognizability of Authenticity
The goals of this research were to (1) determine if there is agreement both amongst viewers, and between viewers and the performer, about the extent to which performances are authentic, and (2) ascertain whether or not performers and/or viewers can distinguish between authenticity and skill. An authentic performance is one that is natural or genuine, while an inauthentic performance feels faked...
متن کاملAlgebraic Recognizability of Languages
Recognizable languages of finite words are part of every computer science cursus, and they are routinely described as a cornerstone for applications and for theory. We would like to briefly explore why that is, and how this word-related notion extends to more complex models, such as those developed for modeling distributed or timed behaviors. In the beginning was the Word. . . Recognizable lang...
