چکیده
Reciprocating probes are a classic and widespread tool for the investigation of edge Scrape-Off Layer magnetic fusion plasmas. In Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) stellarator, Multi-Purpose Manipulator serves as multi-user platform probe measurements various kinds. This paper presents review on reciprocating operation during first phase W7-X with test divertor (2017-2018). It gives an overview diverse zoo heads lessons learned about in complex geometries, safety, head design. A few examples focus unexpected observations presented.

متن کاملIsland divertor experiments on the Wendelstein 7-AS stellarator
A promising new operational regime on the Wendelstein stellarator W7-AS has been discovered, fulfilling the conditions of optimal core behavior in combination with edge parameters suitable for successful divertor scenarios. This regime, the high density H-mode (HDH), displays no systematically evident mode activity, and is edge localized mode (ELM)-free. It is extant above a power-dependent thr...

Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) is a large optimized stellarator (B=2.5T, V=30m) aiming at demonstrating the reactor relevance of the optimized stellarators. In summer this year (2015) W7-X will begin its first operation phase (OP1.1) with five inertially cooled inboard limiters made of graphite. Assuming the heat loads can be spread out evenly between the limiters, 1 second discharges at 2 MW of heatin...
متن کاملKey results from the first plasma operation phase and outlook for future performance in Wendelstein 7-X
The first physics operation phase on the stellarator experiment Wendelstein 7-X was successfully completed in March 2016 after about 10 weeks of operation. Experiments in this phase were conducted with five graphite limiters as the primary plasma-facing components. Overall, the results were beyond the expectations published shortly before the start of operation [Sunn Pedersen et al., Nucl. Fusi...
