چکیده
Due to a favourable strength-to-density ratio, aluminium and its alloys are increasingly used in the automotive, aviation space industries for fabrication of skins other structural elements. This article explores opportunities limitations using Single- Two Point Incremental Sheet Forming techniques form sheets from alloys. (ISF) methods designed increase efficiency processing low- medium-batch production because (i) it does not require matrix (ii) forming time is much higher than conventional sheet metal forming. The tool rotating mandrel gradually sinks into sheet, thus leading an degree deformation material. provides overview published results research on influence parameters ISF process (feed rate, rotational speed, step size), path strategy, friction conditions temperature formability surface quality workpieces. study summarises latest development trends experimental on, computer simulation using, finite element method processes conducted cold at elevated temperature. Possible directions further also identified.

Effects of temperature gradient magnitude on bending angle in laser forming process of aluminium alloy sheets
Laser forming is a thermal forming process which uses laser beam irradiation to produce the desired final forms. In this article, the effect of temperature gradient across Al 6061-T6 aluminum sheets on bending angle is studied. Input parameters including laser power, scan velocity, beam diameter, and sheet thickness are the effective process parameters which influence the temperature gradient....
متن کاملFretting wear in self-piercing riveted aluminium alloy sheet
Fretting wear in aluminium alloy AA5754 joined by self-pierce riveting (SPR), a relatively new fastening technique increasingly used in vehicle structures, has been investigated in this paper. Surface damages have been induced when a joint experienced a sinusoidal cyclic tension-tension load. Various degradation zones have been characterised in the contact surfaces between the aluminium sheets,...
متن کاملThe Effects of Forming Parameters on the Single Point Incremental Forming of 1050 Aluminum Alloy Sheet
The single point incremental forming (SPIF) is one of the dieless forming processes which is widely used in the sheet metal forming. The correct selection of the SPIF parameters influences the formability and quality of the product. In the present study, the Gurson-Tvergaard Needleman (GTN) damage model was used for the fracture prediction in the numerical simulation of the SPIF process of alum...
متن کاملAluminium sheet forming simulations: influence of the yield surface
The accuracy of simulations of the plastic deformation of sheet metal depend to a large extend on the description of the yield surface, the hardening and the friction. In this paper simulations of deep drawing of an AlMg alloy with a shell model are presented. The yield surface is described by a Von Mises, a Hill ’48 and a Vegter yield function. The parameters for the model are based on biaxial...
متن کاملPositron Lifetime Measurements of Subsurface Region in Aluminium Alloy and Aluminium Alloy Composite after Dry Sliding
This paper presents positron lifetime studies of the subsurface region of AK12 aluminium alloy and Al2O3-particle-reinforced AK12 aluminium alloy composite after sliding against steel in the pin-on-disc machine. The defect depth profile detected in the AK12 alloy extended up to 300 μm but for the composite AK12 the range of this profile was significantly shortened to less than ∼ 90 μm. The posi...
