Recent assessment methods of epicardial adipose tissue

Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) is a visceral depot of the heart fat, which has high plasticity and directly contact with myocardium coronary arteries. fat unique paracrine organ closely anatomically physiologically related to myocardium. Recent studies have repeatedly confirmed role epicardial in progression cardiovascular diseases. The accumulation EAT, measured by using new non-invasive imaging techniques, prospectively associated onset disease (CHD) atrial fibrillation. This review focuses on modern vivo methods for assessing fat.
