Recent Advances in Electrospun Fibers for Biological Applications

Electrospinning is a simple and versatile method to generate nanofibers. Remarkable progress has been made in the development of electrospinning process. The production nanofibers affected by many parameters, which influence final material properties. Electrospun fibers have wide range applications, such as energy storage devices biomedical scaffolds. Among polymers chosen for biological scaffolds, PLA or collagen, polyacrylonitrile (PAN) received increasing interest recent years due its excellent characteristics, spinnability, biocompatibility, commercial viability, opening way new applications biotechnological field. This paper provides an overview process large including PEO. It covers main parameters operation modes that affect nanofiber fabrication. Their are reviewed. A focus placed on PAN fiber formation, functionalization, application scaffolds allow cell growth. Overall, appear be powerful tools medical need controlled culture.
