REBT with Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Abstract Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy’s (REBT’s) ABC model proposes that it is B, Beliefs about A, Activating events, not events themselves, create and control C, emotional Consequences. Codified beliefs such as scriptures creeds are prominent in most religions. Integrating codified religious with REBT to help D, Dispute irrational has been studied for more than 50 years. Broad knowledge of cultures, scriptures, creeds, wisdom literature likely REBTers other cognitive behavior therapists (CBTers) effectively treat clients. We give a brief overview the history, culture, doctrine, Church Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, then examples Disputations excerpted from religion integrative sessions practicing Saint present practice-based evidence effectiveness this approach offer suggestions future study research integrating CBT.
