Realization of 3D epoxy resin/Ti<sub>3</sub>C<sub>2</sub>T <sub>x</sub> MXene aerogel composites for low-voltage electrothermal heating

Abstract Suitable electrothermal materials with high heating rates at low electric power are highly desirable for de-icing and thermal management applications. Herein, 3D epoxy resin/Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene composites synthesised shown to be promising candidates heaters where the serves as a nanoheater resin spreads heat. A unidirectional freeze-casting technique was used prepare an anisotropic Ti aerogel into which then vacuum infiltrated cured. The resulting composite showed excellent Joule performance over repeated heating–cooling cycles. steady-state temperature of 123 °C obtained by applying voltage V 5.1 current, giving total output 6.1 W cm ?2 . Such epoxy/MXene composites, prepared simple cost-effective manner, offer potential alternative traditional metal-based nanocarbon-based materials.
