چکیده

In this paper, commercially-available software-defined radios (SDRs) are used to build a 64-channel, reconfigurable Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) radar operating in C-band (NATO G-band). The SDRs design and implement 3-dimensional multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar. flexibility of the has been harnessed evaluate performance linear frequency modulated continuous wave (LFMCW) MIMO using three different methods achieving orthogonality, namely Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), Frequency (FDM), Code (CDM). addition, radar’s parameters user-selectable can be rapidly changed such that environments without requiring changes hardware. Measurements indicate is capable detecting localizing multiple targets all 3-dimensions, including bearing, range, Doppler. operates real-time, with refresh rate only 3 seconds. Experimental results generated for TDM mode operation further research reporting on CDM FDM modes operation.

Othogonal Waveform Design for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Radar

An effective numerical approach is developed for orthogonal waveform design for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar. The Doppler shift tolerance is considered in the design cost function. The design results indicate that the Doppler tolerance of the designed orthogonal waveforms is markedly improved. Keywords-MIMO radar; waveform design; Doppler effect;

Finding Mimo: a Proposed Model for Incorporating Multiple Input, Multiple Output Technology into Software Defined Radios

Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) technology offers the potential for a significant increase in capacity and performance within a given bandwidth and power budget. However, these benefits must be weighed against the cost of the multiple RF front ends and additional processing necessary in supporting MIMO systems. The creation of a cost effective MIMO system can be facilitated through the u...

Special Issue: Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Communications

The idea of using multiple transmit and receive antennas in wireless communication systems is one of the most important breakthroughs in communication theory during the last decade. Popularly referred to as MIMO technology, this concept can greatly improve data throughput and link performance in wireless networks. In principle, a MIMO system can operate in, or anywhere between, one of the two p...
