چکیده
Anti-gravity straining maneuver (AGSM) helps to reduce the occurrence of gravity-induced visual disturbances and loss consciousness. An objective assessment AGSM is still missing during ground training. This study evaluated feasibility using electrical impedance tomography (EIT) assess performance AGSM. Eight undergraduates eight teachers majoring in aerospace medicine were included study. experienced professor from department reviewed key points with each subject. EIT measurement was performed The global regional ventilation used investigate characteristics subjects rated according requirements (maximum 16 points) before after reviewing ventilations EIT. For ventilation, relative depth gas exchange duration exhalation larger than those students (p < 0.01), stability better as well 0.001). No difference leakage between found. had significantly increased ventral implementation 0.001) whereas did otherwise. Additionally, differences rating scores without also significant. Significant reductions found assessed by (4.5 ± 2.0, p themselves (3.9 2.2, systematically higher when compared professor's 0.001 for both EIT). These findings demonstrated that could objectively characterize details AGSM, which might provide a potential tool real-time quality an manner.

Assessment of lung ventilation in infants with respiratory distress syndrome using electrical impedance tomography.
AIM The aim of the present study was to determine immediate changes of global and regional lung function after exogenous surfactant administration in mechanically ventilated infants with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) using electrical impedance tomography (EIT) measurements. MATERIALS AND METHODS A prospective study was conducted in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at a university hospital...
متن کاملAssessment of regional ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome by electrical impedance tomography.
Mechanical ventilation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) incurs a risk of ventilator-associated lung injury (VALI) from inhomogeneous conditions and different properties of dependent and non-dependent lung regions at risk of atelectasis and overdistension, respectively. Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) offers regional ventilation assessment to optimise treatment with mechanical...
متن کاملApplications of Electrical Impedance Tomography in Neurology
Introduction: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive technique utilized in various medical applications, including brain imaging and other neurological diseases. Recognizing the physiological and anatomical characteristics of organs based on their electrical properties is one of the main applications of EIT, as each variety of tissue structure has its own electrical characteris...
متن کاملMethodology of electrical impedance tomography-derived measures of regional lung ventilation
In the previous issue of Critical Care, we read with interest the article by Blankman and colleagues [1], who studied the performance of various electrical impedance tomography (EIT)-derived measures in detecting the ‘best’ positive end-expiratory pressure. The aim of that study is relevant; however, the article contains some methodological inaccuracies that need to be clarified. One of the EIT...
متن کاملAssessment of Regional Ventilation Distribution: Comparison of Vibration Response Imaging (VRI) with Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT)
BACKGROUND Vibration response imaging (VRI) is a bedside technology to monitor ventilation by detecting lung sound vibrations. It is currently unknown whether VRI is able to accurately monitor the local distribution of ventilation within the lungs. We therefore compared VRI to electrical impedance tomography (EIT), an established technique used for the assessment of regional ventilation. METH...
