Analytic Solutions for Iterative Functional Differential Equations

Because of its technical difficulties the existence of analytic solutions to the iterative differential equation x′(z) = x(az + bx(z) + cx′(z)) is a source of open problems. In this article we obtain analytic solutions, using Schauder’s fixed point theorem. Also we present a unique solution which is a nonconstant polynomial in the complex field.

On the Order of Solutions of Analytic Linear Differential Equations

(1) d/dxX(z) = A{z)X{z), where X(z) is an n x 1 column vector and A(z) is an n x n matrix of singlevalued meromorphic functions in a neighbourhood of the (isolated) singular point 0. Sometimes we write A instead of A(z) but we always consider a matrix of functions with such a notation unless explicitly stated otherwise. Each fundamental solution matrix for (1) can be represented near zero as (2...

Analytic solutions of fractional differential equations by operational methods

We describe a general operational method that can be used in the analysis of fractional initial and boundary value problems with additional analytic conditions. As an example, we derive analytic solutions of some fractional generalisation of differential equations of mathematical physics. Fractionality is obtained by substituting the ordinary integer-order derivative with the Caputo fractional ...

Real Analytic Solutions of Parabolic Equations with Time-measurable Coefficients

We use Bernstein’s technique to show that for any fixed t, strong solutions u(t, x) of the uniformly parabolic equation Lu := aij (t)uxixj−ut = 0 in Q are real analytic in Q(t) = {x : (t, x) ∈ Q}. Here, Q ⊂ Rd+1 is a bounded domain and the coefficients aij(t) are measurable. We also use Bernstein’s technique to obtain interior estimates for pure second derivatives of solutions of the fully nonl...

Analytic solutions of hydrodynamics equations

Many similarity solutions have been found for the equations of one-dimensional (1-D) hydrodynamics. These special combinations of variables allow the partial differential equations to be reduced to ordinary differential equations, which must then be solved to determine the physical solutions. Usually, these reduced ordinary differential equations are solved numerically. In some cases it is poss...
