Reactivity Assessment of Modified Ferro Silicate Slag by R3 Method

چکیده
Traditional methods to track the reactivity of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and their contribution hydration mechanism mostly use Portland Cement (PC) as an activator. Alternatively, a novel method assess SCMs called R3 was recently presented. This uses lab grade chemicals such portlandite (CH), K2SO4, KOH, CaCO3 activate SCM by resembling pH alkaline pore solution created PC. By using this method, can be easily quantified from measured heat release, bound water content, CH consumption. The primary objective current study is apply methodology analyze Modified Ferro Silicate (MFS) Cu slag benchmarked against siliceous fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast-furnace (GGBFS), inert quartz filler. GGBFS showed highest cumulative release content due its latent hydraulic behavior. Determination with XRD analysis major phase model MFS paste participation Fe in forming Fe-AFm. presence hydrotalcite/Al-AFm, whereas FA ettringite (AFt) crystalline reaction products. experiments also indicate that acts reactive pozzolanic material acceptable performance consumption, used make concrete. With possibility replace part PC, sustainability circular economy fairly well achieved.

Structural and Optical Properties of Sr-Modified Bismuth Silicate Nanostructured Films Synthesized by Sol Gel Method
In this work, the effects of strontium addition on the structure and optical properties of nanostructured bismuth silicate (Bi4Si3O12) thin films prepared via sol-gel were studied. At first, different sols containing the optimum ratio of precursors were synthesized, and then, the prepared sols were coated on the substrate via dip coating. The dip coated samples were dried at 100oC and, in order...
متن کاملErratum: Bona-fide method for the determination of short range order and transport properties in a ferro-aluminosilicate slag
The thermodynamics, structural and transport properties (density, melting point, heat capacity, thermal expansion coefficient, viscosity and electrical conductivity) of a ferro-aluminosilicate slag have been studied in the solid and liquid state (1273-2273 K) using molecular dynamics. The simulations were based on a Buckingham-type potential, which was extended here, to account for the presence...
متن کاملPreparation of Porous and Dense Bulk Samples in Calcium Magnesium Silicate Systems using Steel Slag and Different Additive by Conventional Sintering Method (TECHNICAL NOTE)
In order to obtain the bulk brick like samples, the mixture of steel slag, and sintering aid additive (like dolomite, glass, perlite, borax and phosphate sodium) were sintered at 1100°C for 2 minute. The flat and bloated surface appearances were obtained. The bulk densities of final sintered composites were from 1.3 to 2.41 g/cm3 and total porosities were from 15 to 40%. The bending strengths v...

A Study of the Influence of Slag Alkali Level on the Alkali-Silica Reactivity of Slag Concrete
Ground granulated blast furnace slag (ggbs), can reduce the alkali load in concrete, despite its relatively high alkali content. Most research has been devoted to the efficacy of slag with an alkali content of less than 1.0% and this is reflected in guidance documents. A comparative assessment was made of the effect, if any, of the alkali level of ggbs on potential alkali-silica reactivity. Exp...
