چکیده
The usage possibility of 19 composites raw refractory clays from Serbia containing approximately 53.29% SiO2 and 26.73% Al2O3 is presented. sum fluxing oxides was 57.74%, while these materials contained 32% quartz, 29% kaolinite 26% illite–mica. Dilatometry tests revealed a sudden shrinkage with the peak at 1115 °C, owing to formation mullite. refractoriness in range 1581–1718 which classifies low- high-duty refractories. Based on correlation analysis, mostly depended content alumina. lightness fired test pieces lower after firing when compared dry samples, it decreased temperature reddish grayish. study presents novel attempt define all necessary properties products 1100–1300 °C laboratory level. Most can be used as natural for ceramic glass furnace lining. organic matter some samples influences negatively fast-firing process.

Modelling the mechanical behaviour of expansive clays
A simple formalism is presented to model the behaviour of expansive clays. Two levels of structure are considered. The behaviour of the macrostructure follows the model developed for unsaturated materials by Alonso et al. [Géotechnique 40 (3) (1990) 405–430]. The behaviour of the microstructure is adapted from the work of Gens and Alonso [Can. Geotech. J. 29 (1992) 1013–1032] in order to includ...
متن کاملFish DNA-modified clays: Towards highly flame retardant polymer nanocomposite with improved interfacial and mechanical performance
Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) has been recently found to be an efficient renewable and environmentally-friendly flame retardant. In this work, for the first time, we have used waste DNA from fishing industry to modify clay structure in order to increase the clay interactions with epoxy resin and take benefit of its additional thermal property effect on thermo-physical properties of epoxy-clay nan...

Several practical cases in the literature validate the use of this technique to improve the mechanical properties of soft clays in foundations, excavations and other geotechnical works....
