Convergence rate of moments in stochastic approximation with simultaneous perturbation gradient approximation and resetting
The sequence of recursive estimators for function minimization generated by Spall’s simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) method, presented in [25], combined with a suitable restarting mechanism is considered. It is proved that this sequence converges under certain conditions with rate O(n ) for some >0, the best value being = 2=3, where the rate is measured by the Lq-norm o...
متن کاملSimultaneous Approximation for the Phillips-bézier Operators
We study the simultaneous approximation properties of the Bézier variant of the well known Phillips operators and estimate the rate of convergence of the Phillips-Bézier operators in simultaneous approximation, for functions of bounded variation.

May [4] estimated some direct and inverse results for certain combinations of these operators. Very recently Finta and Gupta [1] studied some direct and inverse results for the second-order Ditzian-Totik modulus of smoothness. The rates of convergence in ordinary approximation for function of bounded variation for these operators and similar types of operators were estimated in [2, 3, 7]. Very ...
متن کاملConvergence Rate of Empirical Autocovariance Operators in H-Valued Periodically Correlated Processes
This paper focuses on the empirical autocovariance operator of H-valued periodically correlated processes. It will be demonstrated that the empirical estimator converges to a limit with the same periodicity as the main process. Moreover, the rate of convergence of the empirical autocovariance operator in Hilbert-Schmidt norm is derived.

We study the convergence of mating operators on {0, 1}n. In particular, we answer questions of Rabani, Rabinovich and Sinclair (cf. [5]) by giving tight estimates on the divergence between the finiteand infinite-population processes, thus solving positively the problem of the simulability of such quadratic dynamical systems. c © (Year) John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
