چکیده

Rapeseed is a valuable oil crop due to its high nutritious value and ample content. The current study provides comparative analysis of 24 cultivars better understand the performance predict adaptative mechanisms drought-tolerant drought-sensitive based on germination morphophysiological traits during early seedling stage using PEG-6000 simulated drought conditions. JYZ 158 FY 520 (tolerant cultivars) YG 2009 NZ 1838 (sensitive were selected further explore role osmolytes enzymatic activity in improving tolerance. This investigation illustrated that stress negatively influenced all studied cultivars; however, degree influence was different for each cultivar, suggesting their potential Moreover, osmoregulatory highly efficient tolerant compared sensitive cultivars. Additionally, showed higher chlorophyll lower malondialdehyde (MDA) contents versus under Higher tolerance coincided with osmolyte work had tolerance, might be significant germplasm resource breeding programs developing rapeseed.

Physio-biochemical and Enzymatic Responses of Sunflower to Drought Stress

Drought stress is a serious adverse factor that limits sunflower growth and productivity. The stress induces a range of physiological and biochemical responses in sunflower. So, evaluation of defense systems is important for producing resistant cultivars. In this study, physio-biochemical changes and antioxidant enzymes activitiesof six sunflower lines were evaluated under normal and irrigation...

Response of Tunisian autochthonous pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) to drought stress induced by polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000

Seeds of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L) R. Br.) from six provenances of Tunisia were subjected to germination and shoot and root length tests on filter paper treated with polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) solutions made up to provide osmotic potentials of 0, -1 and -2 MPa. Mean germination percent for all provenances decreased about 73% in -2 MPa compared to control (0 MPa) treatment. O...

Morpho-physiological responses in Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum seedlings to drought stress

In this study, the effect of drought stress on morphological and physiological characteristics of two forest species: Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum, which are used in natural forest restoration and afforestation, was evaluated. A factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with two factors (two species and four levels of drought stress: (25% (severe stress),...

The Drought-Stress Response of a Drought Resistant Impatiens Processed in PEG-6000 Solution in a Simulation Test

Premise of the Study: Impatiens is a commonly seen garden flower, renowned for its strong adaptability and long history of cultivation. However, seldom has any research touched on its physiological resistance mechanism. In this experiment, the impatiens is selected from those which experienced aerospace mutation and thereafter 12 years of cultivation and breeding. Therefore, it is superior to t...

Mongolian Almond (Prunus mongolica Maxim): The Morpho-Physiological, Biochemical and Transcriptomic Response to Drought Stress

Prunus mongolica Maxim, which is widely established in the Gobi Desert, shows extreme tolerance to drought. However, there is a lack of available transcriptomic resources for this species related to its response to water deficiency. To investigate the mechanisms that allow P. mongolica to maintain growth in extremely arid environments, the response of P. mongolica seedlings to drought stress wa...
