Raman Spectral Shifts in Naturally Faulted Rocks

چکیده

Raman spectral shifts of carbonaceous materials arising from faulted rocks produce varied and complex results. By analyzing adjacent non-faulted samples three discrete localities in France, Italy, Morocco, we assess changes specific parameters, including G-peak width, position, peak intensity ratios. We consistently observe a shift parameters between samples; however, the direction magnitude this varies. ratios are shown to both increase decrease on fault planes. The majority exhibit decreasing width position samples, but is not consistent; two an observed, tends be small. These data compared published experimental data. Our results suggest that zone deformation processes may measurably change carbon nanostructure rocks. inconsistent nature rock analyzed, those set factors control factors, although discriminated here, likely include, background temperature, frictional heating, strain, material type, amongst others. have Spectral occur with implications for how used predict maximum temperatures sedimentary recognize potential range modify shifts, systematic sampling across individual zones critical.

Raman-induced spectral shifts in optical fibers: general theory based on the moment method

The Raman-induced spectral shift of ultrashort pulses, having its origin in the phenomenon of intrapulse Raman scattering occurring inside silica fibers, has been mostly studied in the context of optical solitons. We use the moment method to show that such a spectral shift occurs both in the normal and anomalous-dispersion regimes and depends not only on the pulse width but also on the frequenc...

Common Raman Spectral Markers among Different Tissues for Cancer Detection

Introduction Raman spectroscopy is a vibrational spectroscopic technique, based on inelastic scattering of monochromatic light. This technique can provide valuable information about biomolecular changes, associated with neoplastic transformation. The purpose of this study was to find Raman spectral markers for distinguishing normal samples from cancerous ones in different tissues. Materials and...

Remote Raman sensor system for testing of rocks and minerals

Recent and future explorations of Mars and lunar surfaces through rovers and landers have spawned great interest in developing an instrument that can perform in-situ analysis of minerals on planetary surfaces. Several research groups have anticipated that for such analysis, Raman spectroscopy is the best suited technique because it can unambiguously provide the composition and structure of a ma...
