Raman scattering and anomalous Stokes–anti-Stokes ratio in MoTe2 atomic layers
Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman scattering are performed on atomic layers of hexagonal molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2), a prototypical transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) semiconductor. The data reveal all six types of zone center optical phonons, along with their corresponding Davydov splittings, which have been challenging to see in other TMDCs. We discover that the anti-Stokes Raman intensity...
متن کاملStokes and anti-Stokes temporal quantum correlation in Raman Scattering
In this work we study the correlated Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman scattering process, called here SaS. The SaS, proposed by Klyshko in 1977 [1], is an effect where the same phonon participates in the Stokes and anti-Stokes scattering processes. The Feynman diagrams of Figure 1 show the Stokes (S), the anti-Stokes (as) and the SaS processes. The SaS process has not been considered in current tre...
متن کاملAnomalous electronic Raman scattering in NaxCoO2.yH2O.
Raman scattering experiments on NaxCoO2.yH2O single crystals show a broad electronic continuum with a pronounced peak around 100 cm(-1) and a cutoff at approximately 560 cm(-1) over a wide range of doping levels. The electronic Raman spectra in superconducting and nonsuperconducting samples are similar at room temperature, but evolve in markedly different ways with decreasing temperature. For s...
متن کاملPolarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering microscopy.
We report polarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (P-CARS) microscopy that allows vibrational imaging with high sensitivity and spectral selectivity. The nonresonant background signals from both Raman scatterers and the solvent are efficiently suppressed in P-CARS microscopy. We demonstrate P-CARS imaging of unstained cells based on the contrast of the protein amide I band.
متن کاملBroadband Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering
Broadband coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (BCARS) microspectroscopy is a unique label-free imaging modality that provides detailed chemical information at each pixel. In minutes, this technique captures a “hyperspectral” cube that co-registers microscopic spatial features with chemical signatures, sensitive to molecular content and structure. This technique can delve into the molecular in...
