The applicability of Raman imaging for pharmaceutics production ranges from the characterization pharmaceutical formulations, kinetic processes in drug delivery to rapid detection and identification counterfeit drugs/contaminants. Acetaminophen (Paracetamol, APAP) is an analgesic antipyretic one most consumed medicines worldwide. On other hand, compound 4-aminophenol (4-AP) a hydrolytic product APAP with nephrotoxicity teratogenic effects. In this work, we have explored first time methods characterize main components commercial tablets (APAP-tablets) inquire about potential optical technique identify 4-AP tablets, which been previously spiked such contaminant. laboratorial treated APAP-tablet samples were subjected different temperature, humidity sunlight exposure conditions, mimicking storage then spectra images collected monitor changes that might occur those conditions. Although lower limit APAP-tablets above minimum levels established by Pharmacopoeias (0.005 %), research demonstrates still allows small amounts contaminant, thus opening perspectives exploring characterizing products.
